UPDATING YOUR FIRMWARE – READ THIS FIRST!
Please carefully follow the directions when updating your lens or camera firmware and keep in mind the following:
- Firmware updates can take several minutes to complete. Do not disconnect the USB cable during the update process. Once you see "OK" on the rear monitor, it is safe to disconnect the cable.
- Be sure to have a fully charged battery in the camera and installed Digital Camera Updater software. Follow the Download Firmware link on the product support page to obtain this software.

What battery grip is compatible?
The power battery holder is the HLD-9.
What Lenses support the PRO Capture Mode?
Olympus Micro Four Thirds lenses (M. Zuiko Digital lenses) support Pro Capture in the E-M1 Mark III camera.
With the exception of Body Cap Lens BCL-0980 and BCL-1580 because these lenses do not have electrical contacts.
How do I link the Single Auto Focus point to spot metering?
With the E-M1 Mark III camera the position of the single AF target and range of spot metering can be linked. The default setting is linked, so a setting change is not necessary.When linked and using spot metering, Face priority AF is not available.
To unlink the spot focus point from spot metering, uncheck any one or all three of the spot metering modes in Spot Metering in Custom Menu Gear E3. Uncheck any one of the boxes by highlighting the mode and press the OK button. Press the Menu button when complete.
What is the approx. number of charging cycles of the BLH-1 battery?
Approximately 500 cycles depending on operating conditions.
Items in the Menu system are "Grayed" out and not accessible. Why?
This is a normal situation. Settings such as HDR, Silent shutter mode and Bracketing will "Gray out" settings that would conflict with the operation of these features.
What Battery is Compatible?
The BLS-50 Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery
The battery is rated at 1210 mAh.The battery can be recharged approximately 500 times
What Eye Cups are Compatible?
The EP-12 Eyecup is bundled with the E-M1 Mark III, E-M1 Mark II/ E-M1
EP-13 Large Eyecup
This is a large eyecup design. This accessory blocks external light making the viewfinder easier to use.
