MEET OLYMPUS PHOTOGRAPHER VICTOR RODRIGUEZ
WHO ARE YOU?
I'm Victor F Rodriguez Jr. and live in the greater Philadelphia area. I specialize in product ,food photography, and headshots but also enjoy shooting fashion.
WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU WERE A PHOTOGRAPHER?
I was always the kid walking around with a camera in my youth but it wasn’t until my graphic designer professor asked me if I would be interested in learning how to take better photos and from there, I started my journey to becoming a photographer.
When I stared I didn’t think I’d ever photograph people, but my first black and white class that changed that.
I’d like to think my style has been heavily influenced by Irving Penn, Helmut Newton, and Richard Avedon, three of my all time favorite photographers while studying at uArts.
INTRODUCING OLYMPUS
How did you get started with the Olympus system?
I was introduced to Olympus while attending the University of the Arts.
What’s your go-to Olympus setup?
My go to camera are the E-M1X and E-M1 Mark II. I always carry those 2 bodies in my main back along with the Zuiko 35-100mm F2 lens as well as the M.Zuiko 17mm, 25mm, and 45mm F1.2 lenses. In my secondary pack I carry my E-M5 Mark II with the M.Zuiko 14-150mm, 75mm F1.8 and a few other lenses for quick on-the-go shoots.
How does Olympus help you do your job?
The Olympus system helps me deliver high quality images to my clients with their incredibly sharp and robust lens line. Also the compact nature of the camera system helps keep me from getting fatigued during a shoot. I also love the built in image stabilization that frees me from having to be attached to a tripod.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A MEMBER OF THE OLYMPUS FAMILY?
My favorite part about being with the Olympus family is the overall culture working with the brand. They’re very easy to work with. The entire team is filled with incredible and talented people.
