Photography for Good with Merrill Images

Pro photographers John and Lisa Merrill will help you develop a plan to work for nonprofits as a volunteer or paid photographer and create visual stories which help them attract clients, raise funds and recruit volunteers.  You’ll learn how to identify and approach stellar organizations working on causes and issues you’re passionate about, plan photo shoots of their work and events, and create a compelling set of images to fuel your client’s communications.

While this class assumes basic familiarity with your camera, John and Lisa’s inspiring photos and behind-the-shot techniques will help you strengthen compositions, capture action, develop rapport with people you photograph, and work in chaotic situations with challenging lighting.  Using example images they created for organizations tackling societal challenges including homelessness, food insecurity, education, and the climate crisis, the Merrills will share tips to help you produce and deliver high-impact visual stories and use your photo skills for good!

Fee: $50.00
