Now More Than Ever, We Are True to Our Values

At Olympus Corporation of the Americas, we have zero tolerance for racism, discrimination, or violence of any kind, whether it is within the company or in our communities. Staying true to our values of unity and empathy is more important than ever as we each do our part to rectify the insidious impacts of racism in all its forms. If these recent events have taught us anything, it is that words don’t define us – actions do.

What Are We Doing?

As the Imaging team in Olympus Corporation of the Americas, we believe that we can do more to support culturally diverse photographers and better represent the experience of all Olympus creators. We are excited to respond to the industry’s challenge of diversity by celebrating and engaging with photographers in new ways in the coming weeks and months.

While we learn and plan, we want to be transparent about the steps we are taking.

  • As we are planning upcoming social marketing campaigns and initiating new ambassador relationships, we are actively reaching out to Black and BIPOC photographers and content creators for potential collaborations.
  • As many of our social collaborations are focused on travel and wildlife photography, the Olympus Social Team is actively reaching out to learn from Black social creators in the travel and outdoor space, to learn how we can be a better partner moving forward.
  • We are planning initiatives that will allow us to reach and amplify the efforts of emerging and BIPOC photographers who have been underserved in the past. When we are able to put these plans into action, they will be shared on this page.
  • We are reaching out to nonprofits and subject matter experts to find ways we can work together to make our love of photography more inclusive.
