MEET OLYMPUS PHOTOGRAPHER ALEX MCCLURE
WHO ARE YOU?
I’m just a beach boy from Huntington Beach California. My favorite types of photography are landscapes and seascapes. But most of the time you will find me out in the Arizona desert. The clear skies of the desert are amazing for Astrophotography.
WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU WERE A PHOTOGRAPHER?
Right after I bought my first camera when I was 12 years old. I always loved hiking, backpacking and exploring in general. But it was hard to share my adventures without the images. So the photos really helped me tell my stories.
INTRODUCING OLYMPUS
How did you get started with the Olympus system?
When I was switch over from film to digital. I was looking at a bunch of different cameras. But I had got my wife (girlfriend at the time) a little Olympus D-580. And the photo’s that came out of that little point and shoot did it for me. I was hooked!
How does Olympus help you do your job?
The images that come out of my camera are amazing. In fact, when I’m traveling a lot of the images I post on Social media are straight out of the camera.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A MEMBER OF THE OLYMPUS FAMILY?
My favorite part is the people I get to meet and shoot with.
TIPS FOR OTHER BUDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS AND OTHER PRO PHOTOGRAPHERS
Be true to your shot. And what I mean by that is to keep doing it until you capture your vision. Only you can see things, the way you do and the camera is the way to show us what that is. Failure only happens if you quite. And most importantly, make sure to have some fun along the way!
