MEET OLYMPUS EXPLORER TYLER GLASS
WHO ARE YOU?
My name is Tyler Glass and I am a photographer, born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. I specialize in both commercial and landscape photography. More specifically, putting humans in our planet's amazing landscapes.
WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU WERE A PHOTOGRAPHER?
I bought my first camera the week after I graduated college and never looked back. I grew up climbing mountains in Colorado, so I was immediately drawn to capturing their beauty and power.
I don't have a specific person who inspired my style, rather an entire collective of outdoor photographers I followed on Instagram, always giving me inspiration to better my skills.
How did you get started with the Olympus system?
My very first camera was an OM-D E-M10 Mark II. I knew nothing about cameras at the time, I purchased it because it looked unique and had amazing reviews.
How does Olympus help you do your job?
The size and weight of Olympus cameras are above and beyond any other camera system. I am thrilled by how light my bag is when I have to go on a 10 mile hike. I also have to do a lot of hand-held shooting so the 7.5 stop image stabilization is HUGE for me.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A MEMBER OF THE OLYMPUS FAMILY?
Olympus provides me with all of the tools that I need to be a successful, full time photographer. It is a family environment and I couldn't be more thrilled to continue this partnership for years to come.
TIPS FOR OTHER BUDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS
My greatest advice to budding photographers is to find a certain genre you LOVE and chase it. There are a lot of photographers that are good at everything, but there are nearly as many photographer who are great at one thing. We need more photographers like that.
TIPS FOR OTHER PRO PHOTOGRAPHERS
My advice is to always make sure you are inspiring and lifting others up. Spreading positivity can be the best thing you can do for another human and the best lesson you can teach them.
