The past few months have been chaotic chasing fall colors here in the Blue Ridge. There never seems to be enough time to experience the brief beauty this season brings. The list of places to explore grows no matter how quickly I check things off.
So far, my photo project has been going great! I have a ton of images and it is going to be hard to narrow down a more cohesive body of work that truly showcases the magic found here. Each time I go to the mountains I find beauty that keeps me coming back. I have mountain layer shots that I cannot wait to share!
I am in love with my Olympus camera gear. It has made taking photos fun again and there are so many features I have yet to try out. I am super fascinated with the in-body image stabilization. My mentor, Tyler, said he rarely carries a tripod anymore for waterfall long exposures.
Honestly, I was skeptical. After shooting several waterfalls and trying out this stabilization, I was blown away. I can get away with almost a 2-second-long exposure without noticeable shake. Definitely going to avoid my tripod from now on!
I have yet to have a chance to test out the Starry Sky AF in full. This is a mode I am still looking forward to exploring to the full potential.
The photo project with Olympus has brought a sense of normal to the craziness of 2020. It is nice to be able to escape to the Blue Ridge and breathe in the crisp mountain air.
While autumn is quickly coming to an end I am hopeful that this winter brings blankets of snow to the mountains. I want to keep pushing myself to share with the world the splendor that is around us.
